Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time badge. The Embassy intends to remove barriers as they are found and to provide a practical alternative when a visitor cannot access information in its present form.
1. Our commitment
The Embassy seeks to make the website perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for as many people as reasonably possible. Access needs vary, so automated checks are not treated as a substitute for human feedback or testing.
2. Guiding standard
The site is developed with the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 in mind, with Level AA as an ongoing target. This statement describes an aim and working practice; it is not a claim that every page or third-party destination has been formally certified or is free of every barrier.
3. Measures currently in place
Current accessibility measures include:
- semantic page landmarks, headings, lists, buttons, labels, and link text;
- skip links for moving past repeated navigation;
- keyboard-accessible navigation and visible keyboard focus;
- a mobile menu with an exposed state and keyboard dismissal;
- responsive layouts that reflow for smaller screens and browser zoom;
- text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alternatives for decorative marks;
- reduced-motion support for visitors who request it through device settings; and
- plain-text email links as an alternative to the contact form.
4. Known limits and ongoing work
Some visual texture, decorative imagery, linked media, external documents, or third-party pages may not offer the same level of access as the Embassy’s core text pages. Font delivery can also vary when a browser blocks third-party requests, though readable fallback fonts are provided.
As pages and resources change, new barriers may appear. The Embassy welcomes specific reports and will prioritize issues that block navigation, reading, understanding, or communication.
5. Feedback and assistance
If you encounter a barrier, include the page address, the task you were trying to complete, what happened, and—only if you are comfortable sharing it—the browser, device, or assistive technology involved. You may also request the same information in a more accessible format.
Report a barrier or request an alternative.
Email shalom@embassyofyah.org. The Embassy will review the request and respond as ministry capacity permits.
6. Third-party destinations
The Embassy cannot control the accessibility of external websites such as Scripture services, radio players, or other linked resources. A report about an outside destination is still useful: the Embassy may be able to offer the relevant information another way or reconsider the link.
7. Updates to this statement
This statement may be revised as the website, testing practices, and accessibility work evolve. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
